Financial Support

simon is still in an early stage.

However, the current prototype is just a few steps away from being used in first professional trials. Still - there is a lot of work to be done.

To further improve the software - especially the handling of the speech model - we (the developers) are seeking advice and tips from professionals speech analysts (for example from the (Signal Processing and Speech Communication Laboratory) to create a professional, competitive and free speech recognition suite.

Sadly these cooperations and the needed hardware (soundcards, microphones, etc.) are very expensive.

If you like the project and would like to contribute, please consider a small donation to make our continuing effort possible - or think of it as buying us a cup of coffee :P

Contributing

Contribution of any kind are of course very welcome!

Programming

If you have experience programming c++ / qt4 and are interested in the subject of speech recognition - you are a perfect candidate to join the development team of simon!

We have a very small and efficient team which would love to welcome new colleagues!

Translating

Because of the architecture and concept simon can be used for any language. That is why the software would of course benefit from more translations.

At the moment simon itself is translated in:

  • English
  • German

and the Juliusd is translated in:

  • English
  • German
  • Portuguese (partly done)

simon uses Qt4s translation system which is extremely easy to use - no programming experience necessary!

For more information see the Qt documentation.

Documentation

As simon is a complex project, we need lots of documentation to back it up.

You as a user had a problem getting it to work? Please document where the problems where and what you had to do to get it to run - chances are that someone else gets the same problem.

This wiki is a great place to start!
